A-1 Wastepapers
"A blanket of newspaper covered his head,
As the curb was his pillow, the street was his bed.
One look at his face showed the hard road he'd come
And a fistful of coins showed the money he bummed."
--Bob Dylan

The Tiny radio ad. reminds me of Tiny tim who Dylan meets in New York in 1961 and gives him some leftover hamburger and chips at some club or other. Like Big Al says, "What if the Hawks had met Tiny Tim first and become his backing band!" They did ofcourse team up but a bit later.( see Band website) . Or weirder still if Tiny Tim had turned Dylan onto the joys of Cliff Edwards and the Ukulele!
Love this image of Dylan, so playful and young. Gosh, I love the guy! Ed - your choice of lyrics is going very well - they bring up so much feeling - nice in combination with the art.
Thank'zZ Jassy... I'm getting a great response for this mailart call. Watch for more new postings soon!
Michael... You're not serious with that Tiny Tim stuff are ya? You know he only wanted his uke for a backup!
Well George Harrison was a great uke player ofcourse and was in the Travelling Wilburys so imagine they played uke a lot toegther. Did tiny Tim play with Dylan or was it just the Hawks?
I don't know if there are any tapes of Tiny Tim and Dylan... but I have a suspicion they might of jammed together during those early days when Dylan shared Tiny Tim's burger and fries (chips).
